ZTE’s brand new flagship with under-display camera goes global
The company did announce the details, by the way. ZTE says that the phone’s pricing starts from $799/€829/ £709. It is worth noting, though, that ZTE also mentioned a pre-order discount. You will be able to pay “$1.99/ €1.99/ £1.99 for a coupon in order to save $50/ €50/ £40, from June 8, 2022 till June 21, 2022”. The phone will be available directly from ZTE. The 8GB RAM model with 128GB of storage will cost $799/€829/£709, while the 12GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage will set you back $899/€949/£809. It seems like ZTE is willing to ship the device in a ton of regions, as long as you buy it directly from the company. In any case, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra managed to attract quite a bit of attention to itself due to its design, mainly. The phone not only comes with an under-display camera, but it also has immensely thin bezels. Its design is somewhat reminiscent of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but some would say it looks even better. Not only does it not have a display camera hole, but its bezels are slightly thinner. One could also argue that its rear cameras are less of a dust magnet.
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is quite a powerful handset
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is actually quite a powerful smartphone. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and it comes with 8GB and 12GB of RAM, globally, while a 16GB RAM model is available in China. There are three 64-megapixel cameras included on the back, including a periscope one. The device does have stereo speakers, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. A 16-megapixel camera sits under the display as well. A 5,000mAh battery is a part of the package, while the phone supports 65W wired charging.
