You can now hide your status bar icon thanks to this app
On Android, there are usually quite a few icons present in the status bar, depending on what your settings are, how many notifications you have, and so on. On Google’s Pixel smartphones, you cannot disable those icons, at all, other than the ones for notifications. Some third-party Android skins do offer that possibility, on the other hand. Thanks to this app, that is now possible even on Pixel phones, and other phones that don’t offer the feature. This app actually acts as a shortcut that activates the System UI Tuner menu. That menu is completely hidden on Android at the moment. So, once you install it, and open it, you’ll be immediately thrown into the System UI tuner. You’ll see four menus there, including Status bar, Do Not Disturb, Ambient Display, and Plugins. We’ll focus on the first one only, as that’s the only one that seems to be working great, and the only one we’re interested in.
There are a ton of toggles available, so you can make your status bar as simple-looking as you want
When you tap it, you’ll see a bunch of options there, including Auto-rotate screen-Headset, Work profile, Screen Cast, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and so on. There’s a toggle next to every single one of those options. So, for example, if you disable the ‘Bluetooth’ toggle, you will no longer see the Bluetooth icon in your status bar. That goes for every other option. I, personally, disabled everything that was present in the status bar, except the clock. I would have disabled the clock as well, but when I do, the notifications icons don’t pop up instead of it, but next to it, even though it’s invisible. So, it ends up looking quite odd, so I wouldn’t recommend it. That’s because the clock is on the left side of the status bar. Every other option, though, I managed to disable without a problem, and the status bar looks immensely clean now.
