So far, we know that this tablet will have a dock accessory that you can attach it to. This will make it into an improvised smart display. That’s a nice idea, and it will, ostensibly, add more utility to the device.
But, the Pixel Tablet may come with two docks
You’ll want to take this information with a grain of salt, as this was obtained through an APK deep-dive. There’s some code hidden in the latest version of the Google Home app that points to the two docks. Since this was put into the code so early on, we can’t tell for sure whether it will be official. The company could change it at any point between now and launch. The code in the Google Home app refers to two different codenames for possible dock accessories- Yuzu and Korlan. A comment in the code connects these two devices so we know that they’re related. We’re not sure how these two docks will differ, but one theory is that one will be more premium than the other. This is partially supported by the rumor that there could be a Pixel Tablet Pro in the works. This is codenamed “Tangopro”- tango is the codename for the Pixel Tablet proper. At this point, we’re running on breadcrumbs, so there’s not much information we can glean. As time goes on, we’ll be able to gather more clues as to what this device is all about. For all we know, this tablet could launch during Google’s 2023 Pixel event a full year from now. We’ll just need to wait for more information to rise.
