There are quite a few new things coming in Android 12, including the new Material You design. Which is definitely going to be a big topic at the Android Dev Summit this year. Among the other privacy features that Google also showed off back at Google I/O that are part of Android 12 now. This also means that we should be getting the final version of Android 12 fairly soon. Normally it ships in early September, but it looks like it is coming in October this year. This event was not hosted last year, of course due to the pandemic. But it is back this year and taking place virtually.
The Chrome Dev Summit is also returning
In addition to that, the Chrome Dev Summit 2021 is taking place on November 3. It will have a keynote as well as an Ask Me Anything (AMA) portion that will include Chrome leaders and it will also have a public livestream. It starts at 9AM PT and will run about two hours. Other portions of the Chrome Dev Summit do require getting an invitation. Google also warns that “space is limited” even though it is a virtual event. There will be workshops, office hours and learning lounges, similar to Google I/O. To get your invitation, you’ll need to login to your Google Account here to get the process started. The Chrome Dev Summit is generally showing off different things for Chrome and Chrome OS and things that Google wants developers to adopt in the future. Similar to the Android Dev Summit.
