The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) has begun in Europe. More precisely, users in France are getting the new Android version currently. A wider release covering units globally should be right around the corner. The device is picking up the update with firmware version P619XXU1BVK6 (via). This release is for the LTE version with the model number SM-P619. The Wi-Fi-only version (SM-P613) should receive the update in the coming days. This update brings the November security patch to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022). Last month’s SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patches more than 60 vulnerabilities. Samsung recently released the December SMR with 80 vulnerability fixes, but it’s not available for the new tablet. However, we still have plenty of other goodies to be excited about here. After all, One UI 5.0 is Samsung’s most refined custom Android experience yet. For starters, Samsung has refreshed the UI with bolder app icons, smoother system animations, and improved customizations. The Color Palette feature introduced with Android 12-based One UI 4.0 now lets you better apply wallpapers to your system UI elements. You also have new customization options for clock style and more, all of which are available directly from the lock screen, There are also tons of new features and improvements for you to explore.
The 2020 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will also get Android 13
As said earlier, Samsung should soon update the original Galaxy Tab S6 Lite that launched in 2020 (model numbers SM-P610 and SM-P615) to Android 13. If you’re using this model, watch out for a notification in the coming days. Note that it will be the last major Android OS update for the tablet. The device arrived running Android 10 and has already picked up Android 11 and Android 12. It will not get Android 14. The 2022 refresh, meanwhile, ran Android 12 out of the box. This is the first major Android OS update for it. The device will also get Android 14 and Android 15. Maybe Android 16 too if Samsung is generous enough to treat it the same way as flagship Galaxy devices. Nonetheless, users of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022)can look forward to receiving Android 13 soon. You can check for updates from the Software update menu in the Settings app.
