$1,399 is still a lot of money, though, of course, but it would make this foldable at least somewhat appealing to users who are thinking of getting a foldable device. It would definitely create some competition for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, well, in some markets at least. That’s not everything that the tipster mentioned, though. He also said that the Pixel Notepad will go into mass production in the third quarter of this year. That means it could be ready for a Q4 launch, possibly alongside the Pixel 7 smartphones. The Pixel Notepad is expected to offer a similar form factor to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. In other words, this smartphone is expected to unfold in form of a book, horizontally. This won’t be a clamshell foldable.
The device may include Google’s second-gen Tensor SoC
Considering the timeframe of its launch, the device could be equipped with the second-gen Google Tensor chip. That is the same chip that is expected to fuel the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro handsets. As Android 12L beta build uncovered, the Pixel Notepad may feature a similar display aspect ratio to the OPPO Find N. That would make writing on the external display way easier, as it wouldn’t be extremely tall and narrow. Now, the Google Pixel Notepad is expected to include some tradeoffs. It is tipped to ship with a 12.2-megapixel main camera, the one Google has been using since 2017. It allegedly won’t feature a 50-megapixel camera from the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
