Google is using a lot of recycled materials in the Pixel 7 series & Pixel Watch
This information has been revealed during Google’s Pixel 7 press event. Let’s start with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Google says that their frames are made of 100-percent recycled aluminum. The Pixel Watch, on the other hand, features 80-percent recycled steel (recycled aluminum makes up to 11-percent of the product, based on weight). That’s not the only recycled part of the device, though. The Pixel Watch fabric bands are made from 100-percent recycled yarn. Google also recycled some plastic for its products. Those are impressive numbers, and an improvement to previous products. We do hope that this trend will continue, of course. Every contribution helps, no matter how small it is.
Google launched three new products during its press event
That is basically all the info that Google shared, in regards to recycled materials on its new devices. The Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch are Google’s brand new products. The first two are smartphones, while the last one is a smartwatch. The Pixel Watch is actually Google’s very first Pixel smartwatch. It will be interesting to see how will it compete in today’s market. Apple’s smartwatches are untouchable at the moment, while there are a ton of other products competing for market share. The Pixel Watch does offer a simplistic design, and rather thick bezels, actually. It charges wirelessly, it’s quite compact, and it uses quite a dated SoC. We’ll review it to see if it lives up to the hype, of course. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were also announced, with a number of camera improvements, and an updated design. The Pixel 7 is now a bit smaller than last year’s Pixel 6, while both devices get better protection for the camera visor on the back.
