You probably already know that foldable devices pack two separate battery units, one each on either half of the phone. They are connected to work as one large battery. Safety Korea recently certified the two power units that will sit inside the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The certification listing contains live images of the battery units, which bear the model numbers EB-BF723ABY and EB-BF724ABY. While the images are of too poor quality for us to properly read the prints on the batteries. But a closer look tells us that one of them (EB-BF723ABY) has a rated capacity of 2,555mah and a typical capacity of 2,630mAh. The other should have a rated capacity of 1,040mAh unit. That’s because the same batteries were last month spotted on the 3C certification website, complete with their respective rated capacity. This makes for a combined rated capacity of 3,595mAh, and likely a typical battery capacity of 3,700mah on the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 will also charge faster than earlier models
Along with a bigger battery, Samsung is also offering faster charging on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. There have been enough hints of the foldable boasting a 25W charging speed. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 topped up at 15W. Of course, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is not just about battery and charging upgrades. The upcoming clamshell foldable will have plenty more to offer. The overall design isn’t changing much but Samsung has seemingly improved the hinge mechanism for a narrower hinge while ensuring a less prominent crease on the foldable display. The exterior screen should also come a bit larger. Other rumored upgrades include newer cameras, improved software experience, and improved internals such as the processor. You can find everything that is out there about the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in our Preview, which is updated regularly to reflect any new information that surfaces. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will break cover in August this year. Rumors suggest on August 10, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The latter will also bring plenty of upgrades to the table, though a bigger battery and faster charging are not among them. Stay tuned for all the latest info about the upcoming Samsung foldables.
