OxygenOS 13 is now official, and yes, it resembles ColorOS
Having said that, OxygenOS 13 does resemble ColorOS still. The same is the case with OxygenOS 12, after the company made a change from OxygenOS 11. Things may change with OxygenOS 14, but for the time being, we’re still in the ColorOS territory. OnePlus described OxygenOS 13 as “aquamorphic”. Needless to say, OxygenOS 13 is based on Android 13, so it’s not yet available on any OnePlus phone. That version of OxygenOS doesn’t even come pre-installed on the OnePlus 10T 5G either. Google still didn’t release a stable version of it, so… there you have it. It’s coming later this year. Now, during its presentation, OnePlus did share quite a bit of information about OxygenOS 13. The company is planning to improve the always-on display by including both Spotify and Bitmoji in the equation.
Smart Launcher was mentioned, as were Zen Mode improvements
Zen Mode will get tweaked, as will Nearby Share and Fast Pair. The company also talked about AI Smart Booster, and Smart Launcher. Smart Launcher enables the ability to open apps from the folder icon, and add widgets from app icons. Sidebar Toolbox was also mentioned, and so was Spatial Audio support. Private Safe 2.0 is coming, while Hyperboost Gaming Engine will get improvements as part of OxygenOS 13. If you check out the image below, you’ll see OxygenOS 13 preview OnePlus offered next to the ColorOS 13 leak, courtesy of 9to5Google. As you can see, the two are very similar. You can also check out the company’s official OxygenOS 13 video below the article.
Do note that OxygenOS 13 will arrive to the OnePlus 10 Pro first. Other phones will follow, we presume the OnePlus 10T 5G will be next. The company did not say when exactly is the update coming, though.
