Tipster Mukul Sharma reportedly spotted the OnePlus Nord 3 moniker on the company’s Indian website. Sharma also shared a screenshot on Twitter (via Phone Arena), although it doesn’t say much. This coincides with a recent report suggesting a OnePlus device codenamed ‘Meili’ was under testing in India. Past leaks have offered detailed information on the hardware specs of this upcoming OnePlus mid-ranger. A report in March by tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Nord 3 could feature a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2412 x 1080) display, possibly with a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate. It would reportedly pack at least 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The device could be packing a 4,500mAh battery with support for 150W fast wired charging.
The OnePlus Nord 3 will likely launch by July 2022
We’ve also learned that the OnePlus Nord 3 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 octa-core chip. This should offer a significant upgrade over the predecessor’s 6nm Dimensity 1200 chipset. Much like the Nord 2, the upcoming mid-ranger will also include three rear cameras. These include a 50-megapixel primary camera (Sony IMX766, f/1.88 aperture), plus an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel depth or monochrome sensor. The Nord 3 will also feature a solitary 16-megapixel front camera in the familiar centered hole-punch format. Customers can also expect the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 to feature on the Nord 3. Meanwhile, an update to Android 13 could be ready early next year. While there’s very little information on the device’s launch date, it’s safe to assume it will follow a similar timeline as its predecessor. Based on this, we can expect the Nord 3 to arrive by July this year. It should sell with a decent price tag, considering that it will compete in the highly populated mid-range market segment. Additionally, the Chinese manufacturer is also prepping the release of the Nord 2T and the Nord CE 2 Lite. The latter is a budget-friendly device, leveraging an LCD panel to cut costs, as per recent information. The Nord CE 2 Lite could also come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 chip and a mammoth 5,000mAh battery.
