What that means is that it started rolling out, but it’s rolling out in waves. You may get it soon (or already have), or you may have to wait for a couple of days until it reaches your device. The update is rolling out OTA. Using a VPN won’t help you get it faster, as it’s rolling out randomly, not based on regions.
This OnePlus 8 series update brings a new feature, new app, and more
Now, this update also brings the new Bitmoji, which have been co-designed with Snapchat. These are supposed to bring some charm to your ambient display, as you can include your personal avatar which will change based on your activity. The update also adds a new app, the OnePlus Store. Do note that you can uninstall this application if you don’t want to have it on your phone. So, that’s a good thing. This update also adds a new screenshot feature for AOD, and some OnePlus Buds Pro-related improvements. OnePlus also patched up some navigation gesture-related issues.
Portrait mode for the selfie camera has been improved
The portrait mode effect has been improved, when it comes to the front-facing camera. Various other, smaller bugs have been squashed, while the two phones also got a new security update. This OxygenOS version delivers an Android security patch for August. That is pretty much everything. The most notable change here is probably the new stuff added to the AOD screen. If you use it, you’ll find plenty to play around here. If not, well, at least the selfie camera has been boosted, and some bugs have been squashed. We don’t know how large is this update just yet, but it shouldn’t be huge. Still, being connected to WiFi while you update your phone may be a good idea.
