Speaking to India Today (via), Sharma revealed that Nothing is currently developing five new products. “For our way forward, our mission is to build for the future. We are speeding up very rapidly in terms of building a pipeline of products, we already have five products in development that we are speeding up to meet our mission of launching iconic products and we are excited about that,” Sharma was quoted as saying. The executive didn’t offer additional details on these products. However, Sharma later said “many of the devices launching next year” will source chipsets from Qualcomm. This also indicates that at least some of the new products are coming next year.
Reports suggest that Nothing’s new smartphone will arrive in early 2022
A leak last month said that Nothing is developing a new power bank and a phone for early 2022. Launching a smartphone does appear to be the logical next step for Nothing, but we can’t rule out fitness trackers or other wearables either. Hopefully, more information will follow in the weeks to come. Hints of a Nothing smartphone have existed since the company announced teaming up with Qualcomm. “We look forward to working alongside Qualcomm Technologies and our strategic investors to achieve Nothing’s next phase of growth,” Nothing CEO Carl Pei said about the new partnership. We later learned that Nothing is developing a new device courtesy of the aforementioned leak. It is also rumored that this mystery phone could sport a transparent rear panel, similar to the company’s earbuds. More recently, the Nothing CEO revealed that the company received 320,000 orders for its earbuds. However, Nothing has only managed to ship 180,000 units of the earbuds so far. Nothing was set up by former OnePlus CEO Carl Pei earlier this year. The company’s first (and currently only) product is the ear (1) TWS earbuds with its bold design philosophy. Be sure to check out our review of these earbuds.
