Newly leaked Pixel 6 cases feature better camera protection
These are your generic cases that can be found on eBay, AliExpress, and so on. I recognize them as I actually owned similar cases for some of my devices. What they always have in common is the ribbed back, the ‘AUTO FOCUS’ caption in the top-right corner, and shiny lines on the back. These cases are made out of rubber, and they generally offer plenty of protection. These particular cases have been adapted for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which is easily noticeable based on the rear camera protection. Unlike the clear silicone case that surfaced the other day, these two cases offer a lot more camera protection. You’ll only notice cutouts for the camera sensors and some additional sensors on the back. The larger case is made for the Pixel 6 Pro, and it features a cutout for the periscope camera. The Pixel 6 won’t feature such a sensor, so it doesn’t have one. Camera sensors in general are placed in different spots on the two phones.
The two devices will have rather odd camera islands on the back
The Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will have a rather odd camera island on the back. It will curve towards the sides, and have flat corners on the top and bottom. The first case shown in the image provided above the article is the Pixel 4 XL case. That should give you an idea of how large the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be. As you can see, the Pixel 6 will essentially be just as tall as the Pixel 4 XL, so it will, by no means, be a small device. In case you’re wondering, the Pixel 6 is rumored to measure 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9mm (11.8mm with the camera bump). The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to measure 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm (11.5 with the camera bump). Both phones are expected to launch in either September or October.
