The device scored 1,172 points in the single-core test and 3,302 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench v5. The scores are below par for a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered phone but we know the test results are from an unfinished product. More software optimizations and the device could deliver to its true potential. Nonetheless, the Geekbench listing reveals that the Motorola Edge 30 Pro will run Android 12 out of the box, of course. The device will come with 12GB of RAM, though the company may also offer it in other RAM options. Perhaps the handset will be available in 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB memory configurations. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the Motorola Edge 30 Pro yet. It could share some of the specs with the Ultra model. The Chinese variant of the latter, i.e. Moto Edge X30, sports a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The front-facing camera is a 60-megapixel sensor. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support.
There could be a vanilla Motorola Edge 30 as well
Considering that Motorola has the Edge 30 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra in the pipeline, there’s every reason that we will see a vanilla Edge 30 as well. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard about it yet. Or maybe the Motorola Edge S30, which features the previous-gen Snapdragon 888 processor, will slot in here. Time will tell. Meanwhile, the China-exclusive Moto Edge X30 itself comes in two variants — a standard model with a punch-hole camera and a special edition featuring an under-display camera. It’s unclear which one will arrive as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra in international markets. Perhaps the special edition, with the standard variant selling as the Edge 30 Pro. Truth be told, it’s all up in the air right now. Things should get clearer as the devices near their launch. We will keep you posted.
