Garmin adds five new models to its MARQ series luxury smartwatches
Garmin’s updated MARQ lineup includes five models as before: Athlete, Adventurer, Golfer, Captain, and Aviator. The company calls the wearables “tool watches” because they are purpose-built with unique features (read: tools) catering to different lifestyles or professions. Of course, all five models share the core specs and design language. They are all circular smartwatches featuring a Grade-5 titanium body. The AMOLED screens have a domed sapphire lens on top. Straps are also made of premium materials like hardened titanium, high-quality leather, and woven nylon. The new MARQ smartwatches boast a battery life of up to 16 days. They offer Garmin’s full suite of health and wellness features. You get wrist-based heart rate, respiration, and stress tracking, as well as advanced sleep monitoring and the company’s Body-Battery energy monitoring. And thanks to multi-band GNSS, multi-frequency GPS (L1 + L5), and Garmin SatIQ technology, the watches offer accurate location tracking no matter where you are. Additionally, Garmin has developed a Jet Lag Adviser for its luxury smartwatches. It helps users recover swiftly after a lengthy flight, so they are in their best shape mentally and physically for their next meeting or sporting event. This feature uses sleep history and other metrics to send you recommendations and reminders for actions such as light exposure, exercise, eating, and sleeping. You will get tips on what to do and at what time, so you comfortably adapt to the new time zone. The Garmin Connect app also lets you enter your travel details beforehand to track how your body will make adjustments.
Each model has its specialty
Each of Garmin’s five new MARQ series luxury smartwatches has its specialty. The Athlete model has a lightweight design with a vented silicone rubber strap for accurate sensor readings. It offers features like Training Readiness, PacePro, and Real-Time Stamins for sportspersons. You also get dozens of sports modes and apps on this watch, including running, cycling, swimming, golf, and gym workouts, cardio, strength, yoga, and Pilates workouts. The Adventurer model boasts a compass bezel with cardinal directions and 360-degree markings. Garmin ships it preloaded with TopoActive maps, an Orienteering feature, and other specialized tools for increased awareness during adventures. And if you’re a golfer, the MARQ Golfer has over 42,000 worldwide golf courses. It automatically detects when you’re playing a support course to give you detailed insights, including slopes. You also get features like Virtual Caddie, Hazard View, Wind Data, PinPointer, and more. For aesthetic pleasure, Garmin offers this model with a golf course-inspired green ceramic bezel. The MARQ Captain also has a ceramic bezel but with regatta timer markings. This model boasts a built-in Regatta Timer and several other on-the-water activities like kayaking, standup paddleboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and kiteboarding. Lastly, Garmin’s new Aviator luxury smartwatch is for a pilot or an aviation enthusiast. It offers a Jet Lag Adviser watch face, a moving map overlaid with the aviation route and weather, and features like winds, visibility, barometric pressure, and more.
