The Pixel 6a appeared in a bunch of new, official images from an unofficial source
If you check out the gallery below the article, you’ll find both regular renders, and lifestyle images included there. The phone is shown in all three color options, namely Sage, Chalk, and Charcoal. These images do not reveal anything new, to be quite honest, but they do give us a new look at the device. The Pixel 6a did get announced during Google I/O, but the device won’t become available until the end of July. Google announced that the Pixel 6a will become available to pre-order on July 21, and will go on sale on July 29. It will be available in 13 countries, while it is expected to launch in 12 of them from the get-go. It’s also coming to India, but it won’t go on sale on July 29 there, unless something changes. If you’d like to check out the price tags for all 12 countries it’s launching in initially, click here. You’ll be able to see them in local currency, and also converted to dollars.
The device brings some notable improvements over the Pixel 5a 5G
The Pixel 6a is a mid-range smartphone, of course. It does bring some notable improvements over the Pixel 5a 5G, though. It will include Google’s current flagship SoC, the Google Tensor. In addition to that, Google moved from LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 flash storage, to LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 here. The Pixel 6a also has a new design, taken from the Pixel 6, basically. The phone also has a flat display, a centered display camera hole, and it’s rather boxy when you look at it from the front or back. It borrows the main camera from a number of other Pixel phones, a 12.2-megapixel camera that dates back to the Pixel 2. That camera has been performing really well for the company’s phones, though, so it’s expected to serve well once again. All in all, the Pixel 6a looks like a really compelling mid-range smartphone.
