Every year, Google sends out a Holiday Gift to their Fi customers and this year that is a $10 Google Play Credit. That’s pretty useful, as you can use it for in-app purchases, some new movies, or even some books. You can jump into the Google Fi app and get your Google Play credit. Or, you should also receive an email about it. Which you can claim your credit from that email. You will need to have an active Fi account to get this Play credit. If your account is currently paused, you won’t be able to get the credit, even if you resume it today. Which is unfortunate, but also understandable.
Just another reason you why should be a Google Fi customer
Many are skeptical of switching over to Google Fi, because of Google’s history of shutting down its services and products. That’s understandable, it’s why I refuse to use any other Google Messaging product because it’ll get shut down in a couple of years. But Google Fi is likely here for the long run. Google Fi is a really great smartphone provider. It starts at just $20 per month for unlimited talk and text. Data is $10 per gigabyte. And you can get unlimited for $70 per month. Google also has bill protection kick in at $80. So you’ll never pay more than $80 plus taxes per month. Even if you happen to use 20GB of data in a given month. It’s an MVNO that runs on US Cellular and T-Mobile (it used to run on Sprint’s network too, but T-Mobile bought them) networks. It can intuitively switch between the networks, based on which is better in that area. It will also jump onto free WiFi networks and enable its VPN, so you can use even less data. It all works really well and it’s way cheaper than Verizon or T-Mobile.
