The Galaxy S23 may launch very early in February next year
There have been rumors of the Galaxy S23 launch happening in “early February” next year. But, if the latest information we have is accurate, Samsung is going for the “earliest” day of the month. The new report doesn’t tell us anything else. But we should be looking at the company’s first major in-person event since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020. The Galaxy S20 launch that year was not affected as Samsung unveiled the flagship in San Francisco before the pandemic swept the world. But the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 launches have been virtual events. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 launch in August this year did offer some in-person experiences. But Samsung kept the crowd limited. Things should return to normal next year at the Galaxy S23 launch. The event should once again take place in San Francisco. Of course, that’s unless the current COVID-19 surge in China doesn’t reach other parts of the world. If things unfold unfavorably in the coming weeks, we could be in for another virtual event. This is something another tipster, who had reported the February 1 date last month itself, has hinted at. In the case of a virtual event, it may happen on February 8.
Sales could begin in mid-February
As for the market release of the new phones, the earlier rumors of a February 17 release could be true. That’s based on Samsung’s history of beginning sales on the third Friday after the launch. There have been rumors of a delayed release due to some pricing confusion. The confusion is likely about whether to increase the price or not. An unchanged price could hit its profit margin amid the inflation crisis while increasing the price could affect sales. But the company should find a solution soon. It may not want to delay Galaxy S23 sales too long. With less than six weeks to go before the launch, we should soon start seeing more Galaxy S23 leaks. Plenty has been revealed already, but it still doesn’t feel like the floodgates for leaks have opened fully. Samsung has been terrible at plugging leaks anyways. So it should just be a matter of time now. We will keep you posted with all the latest information about the next-gen Galaxy flagships.
