Edge Card Launcher app brings a floating menu to your Android phone
What exactly does it do? Well, it allows you to access a floating menu filled with various shortcuts, by simply swiping on the side of the screen. You can set where you want the trigger to be, how sensitive, and so on. Once you launch Edge Card Launcher, you’ll be able to access your favorite apps, contacts, and settings, no matter what you’re doing at the moment. The best thing is, you can launch it regardless of what menu / app you’re currently at, that trigger is always active. There’s a ton of functionality in that pop-up window. You can quickly adjust volume for music or a phone call, add app and contact shortcuts, control media players, control your phone’s flashlights, open the notification shade, and so much more.
The app’s UI is customizable, to a degree
That overlay window is customizable on its own, so you can also tweak it to suit your needs. Once you do that, a simple pull and release on the side of the screen will do the trick. Do note that the app will require some permissions in order to work properly, though. Permissions such as drawing over other apps, modifying system settings, reading contacts, and so on. That’s not out of the ordinary considering the scope of things it allows you to do. It’s the same thing with other, similar apps. Simply allow it to access permissions you need, you don’t have to allow the use of everything. During my brief testing, the app worked like a charm. User comments in the Google Play Store are also mostly positive. So, if you think you’ll have use of such an app, feel free to try it out.
