As usual, Samsung doesn’t directly name Apple in the ad. But throughout the 30-second video, a subtle dig at the Cupertino-based company is apparent. We even see a few iPhones in the ad. Published on the Samsung US YouTube channel, the ad features a man (an alleged iPhone user) sitting on the fence and looking at Samsung’s side of the smartphone world. He is impressed by the Korean brand’s foldable smartphones and epic cameras and is tempted to switch. Even some of his friends on the iPhone side are excited to hear “folding phones“. However, other iPhone users urge the man to not leave the iPhone world because they are waiting for all those innovations to come to their side too. Even though these technologies already exist on Samsung’s side, iPhone users resist the temptation to switch and rather wait for Apple to introduce those years later. The Korean behemoth urges those to stop being on the fence and jump into the world of “innovative” Galaxy products.
Samsung takes another jab at Apple to try and make iPhone users switch to Galaxy
Samsung has never shied away from taking a dig at Apple even though it has backfired at times. Around the iPhone 14 launch in September, the company released three ads mocking its arch-rival. Most of the time, it accuses Apple of not innovating enough but instead, creating a lock-in effect to retain customers. The Korean firm says it has had high-resolution cameras and folding smartphones for years, none of which is coming to iPhones anytime soon. Samsung also previously mocked Apple for removing chargers from the iPhone 12 retail box (which didn’t age well) and the massive notch on the iPhone X. Whether or not you find these digs at Apple in humorous way, it won’t be wrong to say that Samsung is one of the most innovative smartphone companies. It has singe-handily created a market for foldable smartphones, luring more companies in recent years. Even Apple is preparing to join the foldable race soon, though it may begin with tablets. While we wait for the next big innovation in the smartphone industry, check out the new Samsung ad below.
