T-Mobile employees will be fired if they aren’t vaccinated
All major carriers are working to gain more customers, but T-Mobile is focusing on more internal affairs. We’ve had the vaccine for Coronavirus for a while now, and plenty of people have gotten them; however, there are still people who don’t want to get the shots. According to The Verge, T-Mobile will dismiss those who are not fully vaccinated by a certain date. This may seem sudden, but people still have time. According to the report, employees who only have one shot will be put on unpaid leave on February 21st. This means that they have less than a month to get their second shot. If the employees are not fully vaccinated by April 2nd, they will be fired. This means that corporate employees will need to hurry and get their shots; however, there are a few exceptions. In a statement, T-Mobile said that there will be some limited exceptions for some people based on roles, locations, and accommodations. We’re not sure how far these exceptions extend. We’re not sure if the company is simply extending the deadline to a certain date.
This doesn’t apply to all employees, however
While this might sound scary, this news doesn’t apply to all employees at T-Mobile. This applies to mostly corporate employees who regularly or occasionally visit the offices. When it comes to non-corporate workers, the rules are still there, but they’re more lenient. Customer service workers will need to verify that they’re vaccinated by February 21st, but they won’t be punished if not vaccinated. When it comes to technicians and store workers, it’s much the same story. T-Mobile strongly recommends that they get the vaccine, but it’s not a requirement. As the pandemic rages on, however, it’s hard to tell if this will continue.
