The Android 12 update for the Galaxy A02s is currently rolling out to users in Russia. It comes with firmware version A025FXXU4CVF4 and brings along Samsung’s One UI 4.1 custom software. The big OTA (over the air) software package also contains the fairly recent June security patch, which fixes around 70 vulnerabilities. The phone should soon pick up Android 12 in other markets too, including the US. The Galaxy A21s is also initially receiving the Android 12 update in Russia. Rolling out with firmware version A217FXXU8DVF6, users of this budget handset are getting One UI 4.1 as well. The June security patch is part of the package too. Those using this phone in other markets can look forward to the big Android update in the coming days and weeks. The new Android version for the Galaxy A03s is a little more widely available. As of this writing, users in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Serbia are getting Android 12. The rollout should expand to other markets soon. This phone is also picking up the June security patch but One UI 4.1 isn’t making the cut. Instead, Samsung is seeding One UI Core 4.1 to this entry-level smartphone. It’s a stripped-down version of the company’s custom software. One UI Core 4.1 still contains the majority of One UI 4.1 features, though. We have Color Palette, new privacy indicators, Grammarly-integrated Samsung Keyboard, improved widgets, new camera features, new editing tools, improved Calendar, improved Samsung Internet, enhanced Dark Mode, new accessibility tools, easier brightness control, and a lot more coming to the Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A03s, and Galaxy A21s.
Galaxy A02s and Galaxy A21s receive their last major Android OS update
If you’re using any of the Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A21s, and Galaxy A03s and haven’t yet received Android 12, do not fret. The new Android version will arrive shortly. Watch out for a notification prompting you to download the OTA update. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app, under the Software update section. This should be the last major Android OS update for the Galaxy A02s and Galaxy A21s. They both arrived with Android 10 and have received the promised two updates — Android 11 and Android 12. The Galaxy A03s, meanwhile, debuted with Android 11 on board and should be good for one more big Android update — Android 13. That update will arrive sometime next year.
